Testing before suspect materials are disturbed

We support homeowners, contractors, restoration companies, property managers and real-estate professionals with inspection scopes tied to the planned work. Projects may involve interior renovation, demolition, roofing, water or fire damage, commercial improvements or investigation of an unknown material.

A request to test “the kitchen” is not specific enough. Removing cabinets, flooring, walls and ceilings can affect different materials and concealed layers. We review what will be cut, sanded, removed or demolished and evaluate accessible suspect materials accordingly.

  • Floor coverings, mastics and underlayment interfaces
  • Wall and ceiling plasters, compounds, tiles and textures
  • Mechanical insulation and equipment components
  • Roofing, siding, glazing, caulking and adhesives

Independent analysis and usable documentation

Representative samples are documented under chain-of-custody and analyzed by an independent laboratory. The report identifies the inspected scope, sample locations, results and applicable limitations. RPB does not perform asbestos abatement.

Rhode Island and Massachusetts requirements are not interchangeable. Project responsibilities depend on the location and work. RPB confirms service availability and inspection requirements when reviewing the request.
